About this spot

A nature-rich wetland preserve along the Kogai River that spreads across the northern part of Chikusei City. Expansive marshlands and open waterside areas spread out, and depending on the season, you may spot migratory birds. Under the October autumn sky, the refreshing walking course where wind crosses the water's surface is just the right distance for family walks. Open landscape vistas continue, taking advantage of the plains' expansiveness, allowing you to experience the same Chikusei sky as tonight's fireworks venue during daylight hours. In the area where grassland spreads, there are also places where children can run freely, making it perfect for burning off energy in the early afternoon. It's just a short walk from the parking area to the waterside, making it easy to access.

Tips

About 10 minutes by car from Michi-no-Eki Grandterrace Chikusei. Parking is free. Since the ground may be wet grassy areas, please wear comfortable shoes like sneakers. Using insect repellent spray beforehand will keep you comfortable.

Best time to visit

Takes approximately 1 hour 30 minutes. The bright early afternoon hours are ideal for enjoying the waterside scenery.
