A park developed from the ruins of Shimodate Castle located near Shimodate Station (下館駅) in the central part of Chikusei City. Shimodate Castle, which once prospered as the residence of the Mizutani clan and others, is now a quiet castle ruins park beloved by local residents, surrounded by stone monuments and greenery. It's an ideal place to rest in the shade while appreciating the history of Shimodate, which developed as a castle town. Traces of old streets from the castle town era remain in the surrounding area, and a leisurely walk reveals the depth of Chikusei's local culture. The park has benches and open areas where children can run around, making it perfect for spending a peaceful afternoon before the fireworks. Exploring together with the tourism information around Shimodate Station allows you to feel the area's atmosphere more deeply.

2026年10月17日(土)開催のちくせい花火大会は、約20,000発の打上数を誇る茨城県内でも屈指の規模の花火大会です。会場となる道の駅グランテラス筑西の広大な敷地と、遮るものが少ない関東平野の開けた空を活かした、スケールの大きな花火が楽しめます。障害物なく正面から花火を見上げられるため、一発一発の大きさと光の広がりを全身で感じられるのがこの会場の醍醐味です。秋の夜空は空気が澄んでいて星も見えはじめる中、約20,000発が次々と開くフィナーレは圧巻の一言。都心からのアクセスもよく、関東近郊の秋の花火大会として定評があります。

開催時間は当日の公式発表でご確認ください。終了後は会場周辺の道路と駐車場が大変混雑します。フィナーレ後は少し時間をおいてから移動するか、時間差で車へ戻るのがおすすめです。10月の夜は気温が下がるため、防寒着を必ず持参してください。
