土浦全国花火競技大会は大曲・長岡と並び日本三大花火競技大会のひとつに数えられる、歴史と格式ある大会です。2026年11月7日(土)17時30分から20時まで、桜川畔の学園大橋付近を会場に約20,000発が打ち上げられます。単なる観覧型の花火大会と異なり、全国から選抜された花火師たちが「スターマイン」「10号玉」などの部門ごとに技を競う本格的な競技形式で、一発一発に職人の技術と美意識が凝縮されています。11月の澄み切った夜空は花火の色彩を鮮明に映し出し、夏の花火大会とはひと味違う静謐な迫力があります。フィナーレに向けて積み重なっていく興奮と、最後の大スターマインが夜空を塗りつぶす瞬間は、この大会ならではのクライマックスです。

有料観覧席と無料観覧エリアがあります。有料席は公式サイトからの事前購入が必要で、人気のため早期完売することがあります。無料エリアは当日先着のため早めの場所確保を。荒天時の開催可否は大会公式の発表を確認してください。終了後は土浦駅方面への道と交通が大変混雑するため、終演後は少し時間を置いてから移動するか、事前に帰りの電車の時刻を複数確認しておきましょう。

Just outside JR Tsuchiura Station's ticket gates. Restaurants in Playatre Tsuchiura get crowded at lunch on the fireworks competition day, so arriving early around noon is recommended. Coin lockers are available in the station, but their number is limited, so use them early. Since the station becomes very crowded after the event ends, keeping your luggage minimal will make your return trip smoother.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour 15 minutes required. Eating during the noon hour is more relaxed than late afternoon onward.
