View Approximately 5,000 Large Fireworks Blooming in the Summer Night Sky from Omura Bay's Offshore
About this spot
The Omura Summer Fireworks Festival is a representative summer fireworks festival of Nagasaki Prefecture, launched from barges offshore at Boat Race Omura (ボートレース大村) floating on Omura Bay. Approximately 5,000 fireworks burst open one after another in the night sky above Omura Bay, and large blooming fireworks are reflected on the calm bay's water surface, creating a spectacular vista where you can enjoy the fireworks in both the sky and sea. When the thunderous sound announcing the launch around 9:30 PM rings across the bay, the climax begins. The spectacular power of sound reverberating off the mountains surrounding Omura Bay is an enormous scale unique to the seaside. The moment the night sky is engulfed in light during the finale's continuous launches is the best conclusion to this entire day.

Tips
Please confirm in advance with Omura City or the festival's official announcement whether the event will be held in case of bad weather. After the event ends, the surrounding roads and Omura Station will be very congested, so it's recommended to linger by the waterside for a while after the fireworks conclude before moving away at a staggered time. Some areas along the way home are dark, so it's reassuring to have a small light with you.
Best time to visit
Launch is scheduled to begin around 9:30 PM. It's reassuring to arrive at your viewing spot 30 minutes before the start.
