The area around Boat Race Omura (ボートレース大村) is the viewing area closest to the Omura Summer Fireworks Festival's launching venue. Located on an open space by the waterside of Omura Bay, you can view the fireworks straight ahead across the bay's water surface. Spots begin to fill around 7 PM, so spread out your leisure sheet early to secure your viewing spot. Experiencing the passage of time as the sky transitions from sunset to deep indigo while feeling the briny aroma of Omura Bay is one of the highlights of this course. Food stalls will set up in the surrounding area, so you can also procure additional light snacks and drinks here, but since it becomes crowded, try to act early.

おおむら夏越花火大会は、大村湾の水上に浮かぶボートレース大村沖の台船から打ち上げられる、長崎県を代表する夏の花火大会です。約5,000発の花火が大村湾の夜空に次々と開き、穏やかな湾の水面には大輪の光が映り込んで、空と海の両方で花火を楽しめる絶景が広がります。21時30分ごろの打ち上げ開始を告げる轟音が湾に響いたら、いよいよクライマックスです。大村湾を囲む山々に音が反響する迫力は、海辺ならではの大スケール。フィナーレの連続打ちで夜空が一面の光に包まれる瞬間は、この1日の最高の締めくくりです。

Tips

荒天時の開催可否は大村市や大会公式の発表を事前に確認してください。終了後は周辺道路と大村駅が大変混雑するため、花火終了後はしばらく水辺で余韻を楽しんでから時間差で移動するのがおすすめです。帰り道は足元が暗い場所もあるため、小さなライトがあると安心です。

Tips

A 15-20 minute walk from Omura Station. On the fireworks festival day, surrounding roads will be congested, so use walking or public transportation as much as possible. Restrooms will be set up around the venue but can have long lines, so it's recommended to use them early. Apply insect repellent spray as soon as you arrive at the waterside.
