About this spot
A river park developed along the Sasagawa River about 10 minutes' drive from Emukai Town, where you can experience the foothills and riverside nature of Kitamatsuura up close. The park features grassy lawns and riverside promenades where children can run freely in an open, spacious environment. In the afternoon before the fireworks at night, letting children play outdoors in the river breeze is better than keeping them in a hot car—they'll have energy to spare until evening. Around 3 p.m., when the intensity of the summer sun lessens, it's the perfect time to spread out a leisure sheet in a cool shaded spot for a rest.

江迎千灯篭まつりのクライマックスを飾る花火です。「千灯篭」の名のとおり、町のいたるところに灯篭が飾られ、日が暮れるとその光が町全体を幻想的に包みます。そのなかで夜空に打ち上がる花火は、灯篭の光と相まって他の花火大会にはない情緒ある光景をつくり出します。灯篭が揺れる通りに立ちながら夜空を見上げる体験は、長崎の夏まつりならではの贈りもの。家族それぞれの目に映るその光景が、今年の夏の大切な記憶になるはずです。
Tips
花火の打ち上げ時刻や詳細は大会公式の発表で事前に確認してください。荒天時は中止または順延になる場合があります。終了後は会場周辺の道路と駐車場が混雑するため、花火終了後はしばらく会場内でゆっくりして、混雑が落ち着いてから移動するのがおすすめです。
Tips
From Emukai Town to Sasa Town via National Route 204 is approximately 15 minutes by car. Check the park's parking lot before heading out. Since you need to return to the Emukai festival grounds in the evening, plan to depart by 4:30 p.m. If you plan riverside play, bring a change of clothes and sandals that can get wet—they're handy to have.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour 30 minutes required. Around 3 p.m. when the afternoon sun begins to ease, through the early evening, is wonderfully pleasant
