The Nagano Ebisu-ko Fireworks Festival is held in Nagano City to coincide with the grand Ebisu-ko festival, which prays for business prosperity, and has a history dating back to the Edo period. On Monday, November 23, 2026 (a national holiday), from 6 pm to 7:30 pm, roughly 10,000 fireworks will be launched from Sai River Daini Ryokuchi Park (犀川第2緑地) west of Nagano Ohashi Bridge. Great blossoms of fireworks opening in the clear late-autumn sky have a crisp, dignified beauty distinct from summer fireworks displays, and the power of the light and sound experienced in the cold air is truly special. The shimmering reflection of the fireworks on the river's surface is another highlight unique to the Sai River. Known nationwide as a rare 'winter fireworks festival,' it draws many fireworks enthusiasts and provides a fittingly spectacular finale to one of Nagano City's largest festivals.

Tips

Check the festival's official announcements to confirm whether the event will proceed in case of bad weather. After it ends, surrounding roads and the route back toward Nagano Station get extremely crowded. Consider lingering near the venue for a while after the fireworks end before heading out, or check your return transportation in advance. Nights in Nagano City in November are very cold, so make sure your cold-weather gear is complete.
