Sai River Daini Ryokuchi Park (犀川第2緑地), which spreads out west of Nagano Ohashi Bridge, is the main viewing venue for the Nagano Ebisu-ko Fireworks Festival. Spread out your picnic sheet on the grassy riverbank to secure your spot as you wait for the 6 pm start. In the evening, a chill begins to settle over the Sai River, and the mountain ridgelines rising against the sky create scenery distinctly typical of November. Food stalls set up nearby offer warm food and drinks, but it is best to grab them early before the crowds build up. As it gets dark, temperatures drop sharply, so use this time to do a final check of your cold-weather gear.

Tips

About 15-20 minutes on foot from the Gondo Arcade. It is also within walking distance of Nagano Station, but since surrounding roads get congested on the day of the fireworks, walking is the most reliable way to get there. Check the festival's official information in advance for details on the viewing area and any entry restrictions.
