Suzaka became a prosperous town during the silk-weaving industry boom from the late Edo period through the Meiji and Taisho eras, and many merchant houses and storehouses from that time remain throughout the city streets. Walking along the side streets near Honcho and Shincho, you'll see a continuous landscape of white-walled storehouses and latticed merchant houses that evoke Shinshu's rich commercial culture. What makes this town unique is that history is alive in the very streets where people still live today, rather than in an area developed solely for tourism. Before the fireworks festival, take a leisurely walk to feel the true face of Suzaka. The area is close to Suzaka Station, making it easy to walk with minimal luggage.

須坂市納涼煙火大会は、百々川緑地公園から打ち上げられる約2,000発の花火が夏の夜空を彩るイベントです。2026年は7月19日(日)の19時45分から20時30分まで開催。川沿いの緑地という開けた会場で、遮るものなく大輪の花火を間近に楽しめます。信州の山あいの夜空は澄んでいて、花火の色彩が鮮やかに映えるのも須坂ならでは。打ち上げ音が山に反響して体に響く迫力も、この会場の醍醐味です。地域の人々が大切に守り続けてきた夏の風物詩を、家族そろって楽しみましょう。

Tips

荒天の場合は中止または延期となるため、当日の開催可否は須坂市の公式発表を必ず確認してください。終了後は長野電鉄須坂駅方面への道が混雑します。フィナーレ後は公園内で少し余韻を楽しんでから分散して移動するとスムーズです。帰りは足元が暗いのでライトを活用しましょう。

Within a 5-10 minute walk from Nagano Railway Suzaka Station (長野電鉄須坂駅). Leaving unnecessary items in the station's coin lockers makes exploring easier. You can enjoy viewing the exteriors of the merchant houses for free. Since the sun is strong at this time of day, don't forget a hat and water. On the evening of the fireworks festival, the city becomes crowded, making this time slot a rare chance to walk leisurely through the warehouse district.
