About this spot

An agricultural reservoir in Tsuruta Town, its origins tracing back to 1660, when Tsugaru Nobumasa, the fourth lord of the Hirosaki Domain, built the embankment to supply irrigation water. At about 4.2km, its embankment is the longest in Japan, and thanks to its reflection of Mt. Iwaki on the water's surface, it is affectionately known as Lake Tsugaru Fujimi. Since viewers begin gathering from the evening in this area, the stage for the fireworks festival, getting a sense of the lake's overall layout while it's still light will make things go more smoothly at night. Take the chance to observe Tsugaru's nature too, such as waterside birds and plants.

Tips

The lakeshore promenade is flat and easy to walk even with children, but there are many insects near the grassy areas, so bring insect repellent. Checking the location of parking lots and temporary restrooms at this time will help when things get crowded at night.

About 1 hour 15 minutes. The afternoon light reflecting on the lake's surface is especially beautiful
