After it ends, surrounding roads and the parking lot exit become extremely congested, so waiting a bit after the finale before moving tends to go more smoothly. Lighting is sparse along the riverbank on the way back and the ground can be dark underfoot, so having a smartphone flashlight or small light is reassuring.
