Harano-yagawa Riverside Park

Flow of the course

About this spot

This riverside park, developed along the Harano-yagawa River, is the launch site for the Fukuroi Enshu Fireworks. The viewing areas of riverbank and lawn spreading along both banks are spacious, and from the evening onward they fill up with families staking out spots. Once the sun sets, a pleasant breeze blows along the river, giving off an open, summer-night atmosphere different from fireworks displays held in the middle of a city. Food stalls also line the area, so you can buy extra supplies there, but it's reassuring to prepare your basic meal and drinks in advance.

Tips

Traffic restrictions are in place on surrounding roads on the day of the fireworks, so check shuttle bus and nearby parking information on the festival's official website in advance. A picnic sheet is essential, and since there are many insects on the grassy riverbank, don't forget insect repellent. We strongly recommend using the restroom before the show begins.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour 30 minutes. The time when the sunset sky reflects on the river's surface makes for a wonderful prelude before the fireworks begin.
