About this spot

An ancient shrine enshrined deep within the "Kami no Michi" (Path of the Gods) of Miho no Matsubara, with deities Mihohime no Mikoto and Ōnakochi no Mikoto. With deep connections to the Hagoromo legend, it has been revered as a sacred site since ancient times. The approach path "Kami no Michi" that stretches in a straight line through the pine forest has a solemn atmosphere befitting the conclusion of a Miho no Matsubara walk. The grounds are quiet and serene, making it a perfect spot for a family visit during a moment before the festival. It can be visited as part of Miho no Matsubara, which is included in the World Heritage constituent assets.

Tips

About 10 minutes' walk from the Miho no Matsubara beach along the Path of the Gods. Worship at the shrine grounds is free. Consider praying for the safety and enjoyable viewing of tonight's fireworks festival. After your visit, return to the Shimizu Port area by bus to prepare for evening seating.

Best time to visit

Takes approximately 30 minutes. The afternoon approach path with dappled sunlight filtering through the pine forest is particularly beautiful
