The Offshore Fireworks Display that brings the Shimizu Minato Festival to a close will be held on August 2, 2026 (Sunday) from 6:15 PM to 8:30 PM. Approximately 10,000 fireworks launched from the offshore of Shimizu Port bloom in magnificent displays against the backdrop of the wide harbor and Suruga Bay. Combined with the shimmering reflection of light on the water's surface, they create a spectacle of both impact and beauty. Wrapped in the sea breeze unique to a port town, you can enjoy a dual fireworks experience viewable from both sky and sea—the greatest highlight of this Minato Festival. The climactic acceleration of launch tempo toward the finale is an emotional moment worthy of closing out Shimizu's summer.

Tips

Check Shizuoka City or the festival organizer's official announcement on the day of the event regarding whether the display will proceed in case of severe weather. After it ends, the area around Hinodeshutou and the return route to Shimizu Station will be very congested. It is recommended to enjoy the lingering atmosphere of the harbor for a while after the finale before moving, using a staggered departure time. The return paths to JR Shimizu Station and Shizutetsu Shin-Shimizu Station will have heavy foot traffic, so check your footing using a small light or your phone's flashlight function and move safely.
