This expansive, free-admission park was developed on the site of the 2004 Hamanako Flower Expo. It features a garden zone that blooms with flowers through the seasons and a lawn plaza facing Lake Hamana, and simply strolling around at leisure makes for a pleasant time. Step out to the lakeshore and you'll get a sweeping view of Lake Hamana's broad surface, with the Bentenjima area, where tonight's fireworks will be held, visible in the distance. There's also a lawn plaza where kids can run around, making it an ideal place to burn off energy in the early afternoon. Get your afternoon off to a good start ahead of the fireworks.

Tips

About a 15-minute walk from Hamanako-Sakume Station on the Tenryu Hamanako Railway, or drive to the parking lot. Admission is free and parking is also free. The grounds are large, so comfortable walking shoes are a must. Crowds are expected on the day of the fireworks, so plan to visit with plenty of time to spare in the early afternoon.
