Pay respects at an ancient temple on the hilltop overlooking Lake Hamanako

About this spot

An ancient temple built atop Tatsusan, a promontory jutting into Lake Hamanako, cherished by the local community for centuries. Said to be associated with Kobo Daishi, the elevated temple grounds offer panoramic views of Lake Hamanako's broad waters and the mountain ranges across the shore. The recommended route involves climbing the stone steps to pay respects at the main hall, then enjoying the lake views from the elevated observation platform. You can also see the Bentenjima area where tonight's fireworks will be held, building anticipation. The compact temple grounds allow for leisurely worship while enjoying Lake Hamanako's scenery.

Tips
