Climax of the Kannonji Zenigata Festival—Approximately 3,000 Fireworks Bloom Across the Night Sky of the Seto Inland Sea

About this spot

The climax of the Kannonji Zenigata Festival Fireworks Grand Event—approximately 3,000 fireworks launching from the mouth of the Senda River and behind Kotohiki Kaiseiden. On Saturday, July 18, 2026, at exactly 8 PM, the first burst splits the night sky, followed by a continuous sequence of light and sound compressed into a mere 15 minutes that envelops the viewers. The way the light of the fireworks reflected on the river surface sways is a beauty unique to the waterfront at the river's mouth. It is a fitting finale to Kannonji's summer festival, known for its coin sand drawing, a feast of light coloring the night sky of the Seto Inland Sea. The Ariake Beach viewed from the observation platform during the day and these fireworks at the river's mouth merge in memory, completing the day as a single narrative.

Tips

Always confirm the possibility of holding the event in case of bad weather through the announcement from Kannonji City or the official festival website. After the event ends, surrounding roads and parking lot exits will be very crowded, so if you're arriving by car, confirm parking locations in advance and wait a while before leaving. The route back to JR Kannonji Station will also be congested with people, so move safely while using your smartphone light to check the ground.

Best time to visit

From 8:00 PM to 8:15 PM according to the scheduled performance time. Secure your viewing location at least 30 minutes before the start.
