On the day of the Kannonji Zenigata Festival, food stalls and vendors line the banks of the Senda River, and the festival atmosphere reaches its peak from evening onward. Enjoy classic festival fare such as takoyaki, takoyaki, and shaved ice, and refuel before the fireworks here. The riverbanks and open areas are gradually filled with families reserving viewing spots, so it's wise to secure your viewing location early in the evening. The sunset sky reflected on the river and the glow of lanterns beginning to light up along the festival street is another spectacular sight of the day alongside the fireworks.

かんおんじ銭形まつり花火大会のクライマックス、財田川河口・琴弾廻廊裏から打ち上がる約3,000発の花火です。2026年7月18日(土)20時ちょうどに最初の一発が夜空を切り裂き、わずか15分間に凝縮された光と音の連続が観覧者を包みます。川面に映る花火の光が揺れる様子は、河口の水辺ならではの美しさ。銭形砂絵で知られる観音寺の夏まつりを締めくくるにふさわしい、瀬戸内の夜空を彩る光の饗宴です。昼に展望台から見下ろした有明浜と、この川口の花火が記憶の中で重なり、1日が一本の物語として完結します。
Tips
荒天時の開催可否は観音寺市または大会公式の発表で必ず確認を。終了後は周辺道路と駐車場の出庫が大変混み合うため、車で来場の場合は駐車場の位置を事前に確認し、終了後は少し時間をおいてから移動するのが得策です。JR観音寺駅への帰り道も人が集中するため、スマートフォンのライトで足元を確認しながら安全に移動しましょう。

Approximately 10 minutes on foot from Kannonji and Jinkei-in. The food stalls develop longer lines as darkness falls, so it's recommended to finish eating while it's still light. If you procure beverages from a convenience store beforehand, you can avoid getting caught in the crowds at the stalls. Use the temporary restrooms around the venue and visit them early, before the fireworks begin.
Best time to visit
Approximately 3 hours. The river's sunset glow before and after dusk is beautiful, offering the most enjoyable time before the fireworks.
