This sandy beach facing the Pacific Ocean spreads out in Konan City's Yasu-cho, a pleasant summer seaside spot with clear water and a wide-open sky. It's lively with surfers and swimmers in summer, but as evening approaches, the crowds begin to thin, making it a comfortable time to stroll along the beach and feel the sea breeze. Viewing the sea toward Yoshikawa Fishing Port, where tonight's fireworks will launch, during the day creates a sense of continuity through the day's flow. It's a nice rest stop to shift your mood toward evening while listening to the sound of the waves. Parking is available nearby.
Tips
About a 10-minute drive from Act Land. Summer sand can be hot underfoot, so it's reassuring to bring sandals or shoes. UV rays are strong at this time of day, so don't forget sunscreen and a hat. Follow the rules of the swimming area. From evening onward the sea breeze turns cool, so a light layer is comfortable.
Best time to visit
About 1 hour 15 minutes. The slanting sunlight and sea breeze before evening feel pleasant, making for a comfortable moment before the fireworks.
