A cultural exchange facility housed in the residence of the Miura family, a merchant house dating back to the late Edo period. Built in the Taisho era, its plaster-walled building is considered a representative example of Kochi merchant architecture, with six structures, including the shop and main house, registered as National Tangible Cultural Properties. It is now open to the public as a venue for special exhibitions and citizens' cultural activities. Located in central Susaki, it's a good place to stop by while walking around town and pick up drinks or light snacks before the fireworks.
Tips
Within walking distance of Susaki Station. Traffic restrictions may be in place from evening onward on the day of the fireworks, so check Susaki City's official announcements in advance when planning your route. Stocking up on enough snacks and drinks for everyone during this time helps you avoid buying in bulk at the crowded venue, making for a more comfortable viewing experience.
Best time to visit
About 1 hour 15 minutes. It's reassuring to finish up during the bright hours, before the evening crowds begin
