The Yonago Gaina Festival Fireworks Grand Festival will be held on August 9, 2026 (Sunday) from 8 PM at Yonago Port wharf. "Gaina" is a Sanin regional dialect word meaning "big" or "amazing," and befitting the name, approximately 4,000 fireworks will burst successively into the night sky above Lake Nakaumi. Viewed from the wharf facing the sea, the fireworks have an unobstructed view, and the spectacular sight of magnificent bursts reflected on the water surface is extraordinary. On a clear night, fireworks bloom against the silhouette of distant Mount Daisen as a backdrop—a landscape unique to Yonago. The finale's rapid succession of bursts brings an awe-inspiring climax as the entire harbor night sky is engulfed in light.

Always confirm the festival's weather-dependent status on the official announcement from the Yonago Gaina Festival Executive Committee. After the show, roads around Yonago Port and near Yonago Station will be heavily congested. If using the train, confirm the return schedule for JR Yonago Station in advance, and stagger your departure time after the show ends. Since the ground becomes dark, use your smartphone's light function or a small light for safe passage home.
