This park is set on the grounds of Tottori Castle, the former residence of the Tottori clan lord Ikeda family. Stone walls from the past remain in various places, and the park is surrounded by the castle moat and green trees, creating an atmosphere characteristic of a peaceful castle town. Since it is adjacent to Jinfukaku, you can extend your walk and explore both sites. It's an ideal spot to rest in the shade before the evening fireworks festival, and confirming the direction of the Chiyo River from the park's elevated area gives you a sense of where the venue is. This verdant park beloved by citizens offers a good respite in the midst of an eventful day.

鳥取を代表する夏祭り「しゃんしゃん祭」のフィナーレを飾る、市民納涼花火大会です。千代川の河川敷から打ち上がる約7,000発の花火は、鳥取の夏の夜空を鮮やかに染め上げます。川面に映る花火の光と、川辺に響く打ち上げ音が組み合わさって、河川敷ならではの迫力ある観覧体験を作り出します。スターマインや大玉など多彩なプログラムが続き、フィナーレの連発では空いっぱいに花火が開く壮観な景色が広がります。しゃんしゃん祭の名の由来である傘踊りのにぎわいとともに、鳥取の夏をしめくくる特別な一夜です。

Tips

荒天時の開催可否は鳥取市または大会公式の発表で事前に確認を。終了後は鳥取駅方面への帰り道が一斉に混み合うため、フィナーレ後は河川敷で少し余韻を楽しんでから移動する時間差帰宅がおすすめ。足元が暗いエリアもあるため、スマホのライトや小型ライトがあると安心です。

Tips

Just a short walk from Jinfukaku. Park entry is free. The stone steps leading up to the elevated area can be hot in summer, so don't forget to hydrate. There are many benches where you can rest with your own drinks or light snacks. It's about 20 minutes on foot along the Chiyo River to the Chiyokawara Citizen Sports Plaza, the fireworks venue.
