Tenmonkan Park is a small park in the center of Tenmonkan, Kagoshima's largest entertainment district, providing a relaxation spot surrounded by shopping arcades. The surrounding area is packed with local gourmet restaurants, from established shops famous for Kagoshima's signature shaved ice "Shirokuma" (White Bear), to pork bone ramen, satsuma-age, and black pork dishes. This is the perfect time to refuel before the evening fireworks, and the arcade is safe to explore even in rainy weather. Recharge your energy and spirits for the fireworks display through shopping and food sampling.
Tips
Right from the Tenmonkan-dori tram station. Popular Shirokuma shaved ice shops may have lines, so allow extra time. Using restroom facilities at this time greatly eases the experience at the evening venue. From Tenmonkan to Marine Port Kagoshima, travel by bus, taxi, or on foot (approximately 15–20 minutes).
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour 45 minutes needed. The arcade is relatively calm before evening rush, allowing comfortable walking.
