About this spot

The terminal station of the Kintetsu Shima Line (近鉄志摩線) and the gateway to sightseeing in Shima (志摩), facing Ago Bay (英虞湾). Tourist information offices and souvenir shops line the area around the station, letting you feel the atmosphere of Shima at the start of the trip. From the platform you can see the calm surface of Ago Bay, and gazing at the ria coast scenery known for pearl farming builds anticipation for the day ahead. A light stroll around the station front, which is easy to walk even with children, makes a perfect warm-up before heading to the pool.

Tips

There are coin lockers in front of the station, so lightening your luggage before strolling the area lets you move freely. Picking up an area map at the tourist information office makes the morning's travel smooth.
