An outdoor leisure pool inside Kyoto Prefectural Yamashiro General Sports Park (京都府立山城総合運動公園), operating in 2026 from Wednesday, July 15 to Monday, August 31. In addition to a swimming and training pool, there is a children's pool that recreates the flow of a mountain stream and a powerful wave pool, so everyone from small children to adults can enjoy the water. The highlights are the 77 m water bobsleigh and the 12 m slider, both requiring advance reservations, so checking the sign-up method right after entering is reassuring. Because it sits within a lush general sports park, there are many shaded rest areas, making it comfortable even at the height of summer. Kyoto Prefecture residents get a discount on admission, so residents should check at the counter on the day. It stays open until evening, so you can tour the area in the morning and still secure plenty of time for water play.

Opening hours are 9:00 to 17:00, with swimming until 16:30 and last admission at 16:00. Admission is 1,020 yen for adults, 710 yen for high school students, 450 yen for elementary and junior high students and 100 yen for preschoolers, with a discount for Kyoto Prefecture residents. The water bobsleigh and slider require advance reservations, so checking the booking method right after entering makes things smooth.

Best time to visit

Entering around noon avoids the swimming peak while still letting you play properly until closing at 17:00 (swimming until 16:30)
