Keino Matsubara Beach, stretching along Minami-Awaji City's west coast, opens from July 11 to August 23, 2026, with swimming hours from 9 AM to 5 PM. Spanning about 3 kilometers, the black pine forest is counted among "Japan's Three Most Famous Pine Forests"—a scenic destination with gentle, sandy shores backing a lush pine forest. With 24-hour toilet access and warm showers and food stalls available, families with small children can spend a comfortable full day. From playing in the waves to building sandcastles, enjoy summer to the fullest while taking in the contrast between the green pines and blue sea.

Tips
Parking costs 700 yen for regular cars, and warm showers are 300 yen. Since there are no coin lockers, avoid bringing valuables if possible. Summer sand gets very hot, so flip-flops are essential. Swimming hours end at 5 PM, so plan to wrap up about 15 minutes beforehand to allow time for changing.
Best time to visit
Afternoon from 1 PM onward offers plenty of sunshine and allows you to enjoy the sea all the way until closing at 5 PM
