This is a sandy beach spread across Otaru City, open in 2026 from Friday, June 26 to Monday, August 31. Its appeal is the open, sandy shore facing Ishikari Bay, and swimming is free. Temporary restrooms are also set up, so families with small children can spend the day with peace of mind. The surrounding area has a rustic atmosphere with natural sandy beaches spreading out, and the charm of Otaru Dream Beach is that you can enjoy relaxed, spacious swimming quite different from a crowded urban beach. Enjoy everything from playing in the water at the shoreline to building sandcastles, fully until evening.

Tips

Since parking is paid, it is reassuring to have coins ready for the fee. There are not many shops or restaurants, so stock up on drinks and food in advance. Since there is little to block the sun on the beach, a parasol or tent will make things more comfortable. It can also feel a bit chilly in the sea breeze in the evening, so it is reassuring to bring something to put on.
