A JR Hakodate Main Line station in the Zenibako district at the eastern end of Otaru city, facing Ishikari Bay. It's conveniently located along the way to Otaru Dream Beach, with grocery stores and convenience stores around the station, making it useful for shopping for lunch boxes, drinks, ice, and other supplies before swimming. Since there aren't many dining options around the beach, it's reassuring to make thorough preparations here before heading to the sea.

小樽市に広がる砂浜の海水浴場で、2026年は6月26日(金)から8月31日(月)まで開設されます。石狩湾に面した開放的な砂浜が魅力で、遊泳は無料。仮設トイレも設けられているので、小さな子ども連れでも安心して1日を過ごせます。周辺は自然の砂浜が広がる素朴な雰囲気で、混雑した都市部のビーチとは一味違う、のびのびとした海水浴が楽しめるのがおたるドリームビーチの魅力です。波打ち際での水遊びから、砂のお城づくりまで、夕方までたっぷり楽しみましょう。
Tips
駐車場は有料なので、料金分の小銭を用意しておくと安心です。売店や食事処は多くないため、飲み物や食事は事前に調達しておきましょう。日差しを遮るものが少ない砂浜なので、パラソルやテントがあると快適に過ごせます。夕方は海風で肌寒く感じることもあるので、羽織るものを1枚持っていくと安心です。
Tips
Otaru Dream Beach is approximately 10 minutes by car. Buying plenty of drinks helps on a hot sandy beach. Preparing lunch boxes for eating in the shade-poor sandy beach, as well as ice packs and cooler boxes, will make your visit more comfortable.
Best time to visit
Approximately 45 minutes required. Finishing up around noon before swimming makes the afternoon flow smooth.
