Shirasato Beach (白里海水浴場), a corner of the Kujukuri coast (九十九里浜) in Oamishirasato City (大網白里市), is open in 2026 from Saturday, July 4 to Sunday, August 23, from 8:30 to 16:00. Swimming is free, clean restrooms and showers are in place, and five beach houses line the sand, so you will have no trouble finding a rest or a meal. The municipal parking lot is large with room for 1,000 cars, and can be used for 1,000 yen for a standard car, 1,400 yen for a medium vehicle, 2,000 yen for a large vehicle and 200 yen for a motorcycle (free for city residents on presenting a driver's license). On the wide, open sandy shore typical of the Kujukuri coast, there is plenty to enjoy until evening, from playing at the water's edge to playing in the sand.

Tips

The municipal parking lot is convenient, but it gets crowded on summer weekends, so arriving in the morning is recommended. Summer sand is hot, so beach sandals are essential. It closes at 16:00, so allow time to change and wrap up 15 minutes beforehand.
