Commemorative photos with the camel statues right beside the beach

About this spot

A memorial park connected to the children's song Tsuki no Sabaku (月の沙漠), standing on the dunes right beside Onjuku Beach (御宿海水浴場). Because the lyricist Masao Kato (加藤まさを) is said to have found his inspiration on the shore of Onjuku (御宿), statues of a prince and princess riding camels stand as if looking down on the sand. Lawn and rolling dunes spread around the statues, and it is popular as a photo spot styled after a camel's back. Stopping by before sea bathing lets you look down on the sea you are about to play in, giving the atmosphere a perfect start to the day.
