A beach in Wakayama-no-ura in Wakayama City, a scenic spot praised in the Man'yōshū (Collection of Ten Thousand Leaves). In 2026, it will be open from July 1 (Wednesday) to August 31 (Monday), 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The contrast between white sandy beach and blue sea is beautiful, and with shallow waters and gentle waves, families with small children can enjoy water play with confidence. Swimming is free, and the beach is equipped with changing lockers, showers (paid), toilets, a shop, and AED, providing reassuring facilities for families visiting for the first time. You can enjoy plenty of water play and sand play at the shoreline until evening.

Tips

Parking is ¥1,000 per day, and showers are paid. Summer sand gets very hot, so beach sandals are essential. Bring an umbrella or tent for sun protection to enjoy the day comfortably. Since operations end at 5:00 PM, plan to wrap up around 4:45 PM to allow time for changing.

Best time to visit

After 1:30 PM in the afternoon, the sun's intensity eases somewhat, and you can enjoy the beach for a long time until the 5:00 PM closing.
