This beach is on Ajishima (網地島) in Ishinomaki City, and in 2026 it's open from Saturday, July 25 to Sunday, August 23. Swimming hours are from 9am to 3:30pm (with a break from noon to 1pm). It has a shallow-sloping beach with calm waves, and showers, changing rooms, and restrooms are all available, so families with small children can enjoy it with peace of mind. Since this sea can only be reached by ferry, it has a quietness all its own, and being able to play in the water freely without worrying about crowds is also part of its appeal. Swimming is free, so head out without much to carry and enjoy summer on the island.

Tips

Swimming is free, but there may be a fee to use the showers and changing rooms. Swimming hours end at 3:30pm, so work backward from your return ferry time to decide when to wrap up. Swimming is not allowed from noon to 1pm, which is a break period.

Best time to visit

In the afternoon from just after 2pm, the sunlight softens a bit, making it a great stretch of time to enjoy until closing.
