Tsunoshima Ohama Beach (角島大浜海水浴場), spreading along the western side of Tsunoshima (角島), is open in 2026 from Friday, July 17 to Monday, August 31. It's characterized by white sand and a calm, shallow-sloping sea, making it well-suited for families with children to play in the water. Swimming is free, and 200 parking spaces are also free to use, making it an appealing, easy place to stop by. In addition to bungalows, a rest area, shower facilities, and a cooking building, there's also a campground and BBQ space, so once you're tired of swimming you can simply relax by the sea (jet skis and other marine sports are prohibited). Carry the excitement from touring the stunning views of Tsunoshima Ohashi Bridge straight into a full afternoon of enjoying the sea until evening.

Tips

Both swimming and parking are free, but using the bungalows or campground costs money. There are shower facilities, so you can rinse off the salt water before getting ready to head home. Marine sports are prohibited, so keep your activities focused on playing in the water and sand. The summer sand gets hot, so beach sandals are a must.

Best time to visit

In the afternoon from just after 1pm, temperatures have fully risen, and it's a great stretch of time for plenty of swimming until evening.
