A roadside station with a red roof standing on a high bluff overlooking the Japan Sea along National Route 9. Also called 'the roadside station closest to the Japan Sea,' the observation terrace offers an unobstructed view of the sea stretching to the horizon. The specialty is fig soft-serve ice cream made from figs, a regional product of Taki Town. Its refined sweetness and subtle fruity notes are perfect for a driving break. The facility is stocked with local seafood, dried fish, fig processed goods, and other souvenirs, with a popular in-house bakery offering freshly baked bread. Known as a sunset viewing spot, it's a must-stop on any Sanin coast drive.
Tips
The parking lot is spacious and easy to navigate, but it gets crowded on weekend afternoons. Purchase your fig soft-serve ice cream before lines form. Fig products are popular and may be scarce by evening, so secure souvenirs early.
