A harbor town representative of southern Izu Oshima, located close to Toushiki Coast. Small harbor and houses nestle together in a bowl-shaped inlet, and it is also known as the setting for Yasunari Kawabata's novel "The Izu Dancer" (伊豆の踊子). Narrow slopes and stone steps wind around the harbor, and simply walking at leisure allows you to feel the island's traditional way of life. From the small elevated observation point overlooking the harbor, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean spreading beyond the inlet. 大島町・トウシキ海岸に位置する海水浴場で、2026年は7月18日(土)から8月16日(日)まで、9時から16時の時間で開設されます。伊豆大島ならではの黒い溶岩の岩場に囲まれた入り江状の地形で、波が穏やかな日は磯遊びと海水浴の両方を楽しめる人気のスポットです。透明度の高い海は大島らしい景観で、島の夏を象徴する景色のひとつです。遊泳は無料で楽しめるので、島を巡ったあとの締めくくりにも気兼ねなく立ち寄れます。夕方の営業終了時間までゆっくり過ごし、大島の海と1日をたっぷり満喫しましょう。
Tips
遊泳時間は9時から16時までなので、終了時刻から逆算して余裕をもって切り上げましょう。売店やシャワーなどの設備については事前に大島町の公式情報で確認しておくと安心です。岩場が多いエリアなので、ビーチサンダルやマリンシューズがあると足元を守れます。

Since there are many slopes and stone steps, comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Photo-worthy spots are scattered along the harbor, so take your time exploring in the cool morning hours. Transportation is mainly by car or bus.
