About this spot

The main street of Okinawa sightseeing, running about 1.6 km east to west through central Naha. Souvenir shops, eateries and stores selling shisa (シーサー) crafts stand side by side, and simply walking along it gives you a taste of the Okinawan atmosphere. Early in the morning the crowds are relatively calm, making it an easy time slot to walk with children. Build up that tropical mood as you start the day, heading toward the market and the beach that come next.

Tips

The nearest stations are Kencho-mae (県庁前) and Miebashi (美栄橋) on the Yui Rail (ゆいレール), and it is within walking distance of the Naha Bus Terminal (那覇バスターミナル). Look at bulky souvenirs in the morning and leave them in a coin locker so you can travel light to the beach.
