About this spot
A brackish lagoon connected to the sea in the southern part of Mihama Town. The lake surface is calm with few waves, surrounded by mountains, perfect for a leisurely morning with beautiful scenery. A fishing port is also nearby, allowing you to feel the local fishing operations up close. You can enjoy a different face of a quiet waterside in the mountains compared to Suisho Beach where you'll go later. Recommended as a walking course to warm up before beach swimming.

福井県美浜町にある水晶浜海水浴場は、2026年は7月1日(水)から8月31日(月)まで、8時から17時まで開設されます。その名の通り透明度の高い遠浅の海と白い砂浜が広がり、若狭湾でも屈指の美しさで知られるビーチです。遊泳は無料で楽しめ、駐車場は2,000台分と広々。平日は1,000円、土日祝およびお盆期間は2,000円の駐車料金がかかります。波打ち際での水遊びから砂のお城づくりまで、夕方まで思いきり夏の海を満喫できます。
Tips
駐車場は広いものの、お盆期間や週末は早い時間に埋まることがあるので午前中の到着が安心です。夏の砂浜は素足では熱いのでビーチサンダルを。遊泳は17時までなので、着替えの時間を見込んで16時45分ごろには切り上げましょう。
Tips
About 15 minutes by car from Suisho Beach. The lakeside path has narrow sidewalk areas, so hold hands when walking with small children. Summer mornings have strong sunlight, so bring a hat and beverages.
Best time to visit
About 1 hour. In the morning, the wind is gentle and the lake surface is mirror-like and calm.
