Swim all day at the shallow Hatsu Beach, one of Japan's 100 Best Beaches
About this spot
Hatsu Beach in Onga District, Okagaki Town opens from July 11 (Saturday) to August 16 (Sunday), 2026, with supervision from 9 AM to 5 PM. Selected by the Ministry of the Environment for the "100 Best Beaches," the shallow sandy beach stretches before you with relatively calm waves, making it safe for swimming with small children. While there are no major beach facilities like beach houses, the tourist station Hokuto Shichisei has multipurpose rest rooms, bike rentals, nursing rooms, and coin lockers, so you won't have trouble changing or storing luggage. Rinsing off the salt with coin showers (100 yen/3 minutes) before heading home is also a nice point. With about 150 parking spaces, this is an easy beach to visit by car.
