Take a leisurely walk through the pine forest leading to Hatsu Beach

A pine forest that continues for about 10 km along the coastline from Hatsu Beach through Okagaki Town to Fukutsu City. Due to its beautiful white sand and green pine scenery, it's also counted as a Ramsar Convention-registered wetland, a nature-rich area. The pine forest spreads right next to the beach and is enjoyed as a shaded walking path before heading to the sandy beach. Walking for a few minutes surrounded by the sea breeze and scent of pine heightens anticipation for the swimming about to begin. Even in summer, the shade of pine trees is cool and suitable for small children's rest.

遠賀郡岡垣町にある波津海水浴場は、2026年は7月11日(土)から8月16日(日)まで開設され、監視時間は9時から17時までです。環境省の「快水浴場百選」にも選ばれた遠浅の砂浜が広がり、波も比較的穏やかで小さな子ども連れでも安心して水遊びができます。海の家のような大がかりな設備はありませんが、観光ステーション北斗七星には多目的休憩室や貸自転車、授乳室、コインロッカーが備わっており、着替えや荷物預けにも困りません。コインシャワー(100円/3分)で潮を流してから帰れるのもうれしいポイントです。約150台分の駐車場があるので、車での来場もしやすい海水浴場です。

Tips

遊泳は無料ですが、コインシャワーは100円/3分の有料です。監視時間は17時までなので、着替えの時間を見込んで16時45分ごろには水から上がるのがおすすめ。観光ステーション北斗七星の授乳室やコインロッカーは小さな子ども連れの強い味方です。駐車場は約150台とゆとりがありますが、夏休みの週末は早めの到着が安心です。

Tips

It's right next to the parking area of Hatsu Beach and is the perfect distance for a light walk before changing into swimwear. The ground inside the pine forest is sandy with ups and downs, so wear comfortable shoes. Insect repellent spray is recommended.
