Ruins of an ancient barrier station, counted as one of the "Three Ancient Barriers of Oshu," and a historic place that has long been a poetic subject for many poets. The park features a lush walking path with poetry monuments and commemorative markers scattered throughout, allowing for a leisurely historical walk. Located close to the beach, it's perfectly positioned to stop by in the morning before it gets hot. With plenty of shade, it's relatively comfortable even on a summer morning. Spend time learning about Iwaki's history while building anticipation for the sea you're about to visit.
Tips
The walking path is hilly, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended. In summer, insect repellent and a hat are helpful. The park has benches scattered throughout, so you can take breaks and stroll leisurely.
