Located in the center of Yurihonjo City, Honjō Park is a historic park built on the ruins of Honjō Castle, which served as the seat of the Honjō clan during the Edo period. The park retains traces of moats and stone walls, and families can leisurely stroll through lush greenery. Known as a cherry blossom spot, summer offers pleasant shade, making it perfect for light warm-ups before heading to the pool. With a lawn plaza, small children can also run around a bit and exercise early in the day. A truly Yurihonjo way to spend your morning, enjoying both historical and natural exploration at once.

Tips

Parking is scattered around the park, so finding a spot is easy at early times. There are stone stairs and slopes, so for strollers, choosing paved paths makes walking easier. A 30-40 minute stay is reasonable; moving on without lingering makes the rest of your schedule easier.

Takes about 50 minutes. Early morning before temperatures rise is most comfortable for exploring
