Morning attraction: Meet crocodiles and tropical plants

Located just minutes north of Imaihama Beach, this is a leading zoo and botanical garden representing Izu. Many crocodiles are bred in the greenhouse where you can observe their power up close, and you can also enjoy tropical plants like bananas, orchids, and tropical water lilies that bring a tropical mood. Being mostly indoors is a great advantage for staying cool while avoiding the intense summer sun. Make this a fun warm-up before your beach swim where the whole family can enjoy themselves. Many displays are entertaining even for small children, and visiting right after opening allows you to tour at a relaxed pace.

賀茂郡河津町にある今井浜海水浴場は、2026年は7月25日(土)から8月23日(日)まで開設され、遊泳時間は8時30分から16時までです。遠浅で波の穏やかな砂浜は伊豆エリアでも透明度の高さで知られ、小さな子ども連れでも波打ち際で安心して水遊びができます。砂浜には海の家が2軒あり、食事や休憩に利用できるほか、有料のシャワーも完備。遊泳自体は無料で楽しめるので、家族の予算にもやさしい海水浴場です。波打ち際での水遊びから砂のお城づくりまで、河津の夏を思いきり満喫しましょう。

Tips

駐車場は約300台分あり、利用料はおおむね1,000円から2,000円です。海の家の飲食やシャワーは別途料金がかかるので、小銭を用意しておくとスムーズ。夏の砂浜は熱くなるのでビーチサンダルが必携です。遊泳時間は16時までなので、着替えの時間も見込んで15分前には切り上げるのがおすすめです。トイレは2ヶ所に設置されています。

Tips

Located minutes by car from Imaihama Beach and within walking distance from Imaihama Kaigan Station on the Izu Kyuko Line. During summer vacation, daytime gets crowded, so visiting mid-morning right after opening is recommended. The indoor walk is quite long, so a stroller makes it easier for families with young children to get around.
