Eguchi Beach Marine Park Bathing Beach in Hiji City spreads across a section of Fukiage Beach, one of Japan's three great sand dunes. Operating from July 18 (Saturday) to August 31 (Monday), 2026, with swimming hours from 10 AM to 5 PM. The shallow, calm sandy beach stretches on, allowing even small children to safely enjoy water play at the water's edge. Facilities include changing rooms, shower booths, and restrooms, and the shop Eguchi Horaikan provides snacks and drinks. A family-friendly bathing beach where you can visit with minimal baggage. Enjoy Kagoshima's summer fully with sand and water play until evening.

Tips

Admission is free, but showers (100 yen/approximately 2 minutes) and coin lockers (100 yen) are paid. Prepare coins. Summer sand gets very hot during the day, so beach sandals are essential. Swimming ends at 5 PM, so plan to leave the water around 4:45 PM to allow time for changing.

Best time to visit

After 12 PM through the evening offers plenty of sunshine and time to swim leisurely until 5 PM.
