Enjoy Swimming on Pure White Sand Until Evening. Lifeguards on Duty for Family Safety
About this spot
A symbolic swimming beach in South Kii Shirahama, with pure white sand stretching for about 600 meters in Nishi-Muro District, Shirahama Town. In 2026, lifeguards are stationed from May 3 (Sunday) to September 13 (Sunday), 9 AM to 5 PM. With shallow water and gentle waves, small children can safely enjoy water play. The contrast between the white sand and blue sea reminiscent of a tropical resort makes it one of the most beautiful beaches in western Japan. Swimming is free, and changing rooms, restrooms, and parking (fee-based) are available, so families need not worry about preparation. From wave play along the shore to building sandcastles, enjoy summer to the fullest until evening.
