About this spot

This is the very venue of tonight's fireworks display, the riverside spreading along the right bank of the Iinashi River (飯梨川) near Toda Bridge (富田橋). As evening approaches, leisure sheets for securing spots gradually increase, and the lights of the food stalls typical of the Gion Festival begin to light up, building the festival atmosphere. Have dinner from the local food stalls while spending a leisurely time until the show begins. The open scenery along the river also offers a beautiful sunset, with the mountains behind the castle town turning red as another highlight. It's a good idea to check the location of restrooms during this time, for peace of mind once night falls.

Tips

About a 10-minute drive from the Hirose Kasuri Center (広瀬絣センター). Roads around the area get crowded from evening onward on the day of the fireworks display, so arrive early if driving. Get your food from the stalls early before they sell out.

Best time to visit

About 2 hours and 15 minutes. It's recommended to wait while watching the changing colors of the sky around sunset.
