About this spot

A facility introducing Hirose kasuri (広瀬絣), a traditional textile passed down in the Hirose area since the Edo period. Characterized by simple, indigo-based patterns full of character, the center lets you watch the weaving process and see finished bolts of cloth and goods on display. Experiencing this handcraft culture, rooted in the local way of life, helps you feel closer to the history of the castle town of Hirose. It's also a great spot for a calm moment to peek into the world of craftsmanship before the fireworks display. The building is compact, so it's easy to drop by even for a short visit.

Tips

About a 15-minute drive from the Adachi Museum of Art (足立美術館). Business hours may be limited, so it's a good idea to check before visiting. It's about a 10-minute drive from here to the Iinashi River riverside.
