About this spot

A food supermarket in Iida-machi, Suzu City, at the tip of the Noto Peninsula. It carries a wide range of items centered on seafood from the Sea of Japan and ingredients from the Hokuriku and Noto regions, from fresh fish to processed foods, seasonings, and snacks. The area around Iida-machi and Kasuga-dori (飯田町・春日通り), where the fireworks launch, is the stage for the Tōrōyama Festival, where giant lantern-shaped floats called tōron-yama parade through town. Pick up snacks and drinks here for an early dinner, then spread out a picnic sheet along the street and wait for the fireworks amid the festival's excitement.

Tips

Traffic restrictions may be put in place around the venue from the evening of the event, so park your car early. Food stalls are limited in number, so it's reassuring to get food and drinks early. It's also a good idea to check the location of restrooms while it's still light out.
