About this spot

A giant wisteria tree designated a national natural monument, said to be over 600 years old. In spring, purple clusters of flowers bloom across the entire trellis, but even in summer, the widely spreading trunk and the lush green leaves covering the trellis create a cool, impressive shade worth seeing. Located right next to Susanoo Shrine (素盞嗚神社), it has long been carefully preserved as a symbol of the region. Right next to the shrine where fireworks will be launched tonight, start by experiencing this historic tree.

Tips

Adjacent to Susanoo Shrine (素盞嗚神社), just a short walk from the fireworks venue. While the shade is pleasant in summer, there are also many insects, so bring insect repellent. Free parking is available nearby.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour. Early afternoon, when the shade is cool, is recommended.
