About this spot

A famous open-air bath, representative of Misasa Onsen, that wells up right on the riverbed of the Mitoku River. It has long been beloved as an open, freeing hot spring where you can bathe while listening to the murmur of the river. You can view its distinctive scenery from the bridge above or from the riverside promenade, a spot where you can really feel the atmosphere unique to Misasa Onsen. The sight of the clear stream mingling with rising steam is full of the charm typical of a mountain hot-spring town. Take a break during your stroll and experience Misasa's hot-spring culture.

Tips

Kawara-buro is outdoors, so please be considerate of others when viewing it. Viewing from the bridge above is recommended. The next stop, Misasa Bridge, is very close by and can be reached on foot.
