Island-hopping walk on footpaths and bridges connecting Lake Onuma and Lake Konuma
About this spot
The central area of Onuma Quasi-National Park consisting of 3 lakes (Onuma, Konuma, and Sushinuma) and 126 small islands. Well-maintained footpaths connect the islands with bridges, offering beautiful views of Mt. Komaga across the lake from every angle. You can choose from shorter courses (around 30 minutes) to longer ones (over an hour) depending on family fitness levels. Summer is vibrant with greenery, and the breeze across the lake is refreshing. The Onuma Park plaza where fireworks will light up tonight is just nearby.

2026年7月26日(日)開催、大沼国定公園の湖畔を舞台にした花火大会です。約2,000発の花火が湖の上空に打ち上げられ、静かな湖面には花火のもう一つの姿が映り込みます。駒ヶ岳のシルエットを背景に開く大輪の花火は、道南ならではのスケール感。夏休みの澄んだ夜空に響く音と光を、湖畔から家族でゆっくり見上げる時間は、忘れられない夏の思い出になります。
Tips
荒天時は中止や日程変更の可能性があるため、当日は最新情報を確認しましょう。終了後は駅や駐車場に向かう人で混み合うため、少し余韻を楽しんでから移動するのがおすすめです。夜は足元が暗いのでスマホのライトなどがあると安心です。

About 3 minutes walk from JR Onuma Park Station. Some footpaths are unpaved, so wear comfortable walking shoes. Even in summer, early mornings and evenings can be cool, so bringing a light jacket is reassuring.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour 30 minutes. Morning to midday is relatively uncrowded and easy to walk.
